Saddam Hussein Verdict

I'm not sure if any of you've been following the court proceeding in this trial, but since late August it has been speculated that the verdict would arrive in October. Well, October is behind us and still no suprise. Here's the suprise; the verdict is scheduled for November 5th, just 2 days before the midterm elections. Look for Monday's headlines to read something like "Guilty: Just In Time To Save GOP." I felt a little sick when i read this little blurb on BBC.co.uk because I had read about this a few months back in a NYTimes article. Now today Reuters is reporting the same information. Perhaps this is why Rove and the gang are so confident going into the home stretch.
